10 Years, 33 ESPs: Sun Paper Chooses Enelco Again for Nanning Phase III and Yandian Phase II

New orders for recovery boiler and lime kiln ESPs bring our partnership with Sun Paper to 33 ESPs at five mills.

Enelco has received new orders from Sun Paper for the electrostatic precipitator systems of its Nanning Phase III and Yandian Phase II projects. The ESPs serve a 2,500 tds/d recovery boiler and a 450 t/d lime kiln at each site.

A 10-year partnership across five mills

The partnership began in 2016 with Sun Paper’s project in Laos. It now covers five mills (Laos, Honghe, Beihai, Nanning and Yandian) and 33 ESPs serving 9 recovery boilers, 8 lime kilns and 1 biomass boiler.

Staying below 10 mg/Nm³, every day

Both new projects require outlet emissions of 10 mg/Nm³ or less. For a mill that runs around the clock, the real test is not one good stack test. It is staying in compliance as load and flue gas conditions change, with as little downtime as possible.

Design choices for long-term performance

  • Project-specific CFD design for more stable emissions
  • Inlet pre-collection and Mini-Drag to reduce ash build-up and blockage
  • Enclosure housing for steadier operation and easier maintenance
  • Vertical ash conveying for simpler cleaning

Right-sized, and judged on total cost of ownership

ESP size should follow the flue gas conditions, dust properties and emission target. A more efficient design avoids unnecessary size, which saves space as well as civil, ductwork and installation cost. We encourage buyers to compare total cost of ownership (power, maintenance, downtime and footprint) rather than the purchase price alone.

Enelco’s ESP engineering traces back to Environmental Elements Corporation (EEC) of the USA. We have worked in China since 1996 and brought EEC’s ESP solutions to China’s pulp and paper industry in 2009.
